EDAVAKA MISSION  ACTIVITIES

 

Marthoma  Voluntary  Evangelist’s Association  was found   by  our late Metropolitan Most Rev. Abraham  Marthoma   out of his strong conviction    that each marthomite is an evangelist. Evangelism  is the utmost mission of this organization. The parish level unit  is known as Edavaka Mission and in the Kuwait Marthoma Parish, Edavaka Mission is  active since 1984 . We give stress to the seven fold activities  such as  Intercessory  Prayer, Bible  Study, Sharing of Experience,  House Visit,  Serving the sick,  Prayer  Group activities,  and Evangelism  among non Christians.

PROGRAMMES OF THE EDAVAKA MISSION FOR THE YEAR 2007-2008

 

1. PRAYER GROUPS:

Edavaka Mission members are working together for the well conduct of the 39 prayer groups of our parish.  These prayer groups are divided geographically in to Abbassiya, Salmiyah & City/ Riggae Zones.

 

2. FASTING PRAYER:

Every 1^st & 3^rd Fridays from Morning 8 AM to 10 AM, Edavaka Mission is leading the Fasting Prayer in Diwaniya in the NECK. Singing session, Intercessory prayer, Sharing of Experiences and Sharing the word of God are the main programmes of these days.

 

3. COTTAGE PRAYER:

Edavaka Mission is organizing Fellowship Meetings in houses of members at 07.00 PM on second Thursdays in Salmiyah and third Thursdays in City area.  Our Achens are attending and leading these Fellowship Meetings.

 

4. ABBASSIYA ZONAL FELLOWSHIP PRAYER:

Edavaka mission conducts the Fellowship Prayer Meeting in the Royal Hall on every Thursdays at 7PM to 9 PM.

 

5. BIBLE CLASS:

Every Second Saturdays at 7.30 PM, our Achens are leading the Bible Study sessions in the Hall Of  Hope of the NECK premises.

 

6. SACRIFICIAL OFFERING:

The main source of income of Edavaka Mission  is the Sacrificial Offerings taken after the Fasting Prayers of  every First Fridays in Diwania.

 

7. SPONSORING EVANGELISTS:

Edavaka Mission is sponsoring Sixteen (16) evangelists through our different dioceses.

 

8. BIBLE STUDY:

Edavaka Mission has been conducted Bible Study for 9 days at Royal Hall from 4 PM to 6 PM during Ramadan.

 

 

11. MEDICAL AID CHARITY FOR EVANGELISTS FAMILY:

Kuwait Marthoma Edavaka Mission provides medical Aid to the family members of our Evangelists.

 

12. SCHOLARSHIP:

Edavaka Mission provides Scholarship to two students of the Kombadi Bible Institute.
