Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulose  Episcopa

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

Greetings!
We are now celebrating the 47th Parish Day and it is a time to look back with reflection and look forward with hope for a new tomorrow. God had led thus far and we are slowly and steadily moving to the Golden Jubilee of the Kuwait Mar Thoma worshiping community. Time has come to think about the Jubilee and plan ahead with care.
What is a Parish? It is caring and loving community where all are important and their opinions are admitted and voices are heard. Some people are very shallow in their thinking and consider the parish only as an administrative body in an institutional set up. It is dangerous! Church is a covenant community and a worshipping community. In the love of the Lord we are knit together to exercise mutual love and compassion. It is a missionary community with a vision
for the world which God loved and gave His Son to die on the Cross of Calvary.
Faithfulness and transparency must be maintained in all our dealings and in every
walks of life.
It is very logical to think that smaller communities can serve its members well. Kuwait Parish was proud of its large membership and conducted business as usual for a long time. We realize that things are not all right and we need to think and act as responsible people. All members are entitled for meaningful and creative pastoral care. As we look forward we may have to plan to create at least three worship Congregations for a meaningful and spiritually edifying church life. We have to develop new leadership cadre and entrust them with responsibilities for the future of the church in the Diaspora community. Let us be graceful in our church membership and grateful to God for His bountiful blessings.
Discipline must be maintained in church life and there is no 'discipleship' without discipline. We need to mobilize and utilize our resources for the mission of the church with stewardship. May the Parish Day celebrations give us new impetus to renew our commitment to the Lord of the Church and help us to ensure our meaningful participation in the life of the church, the Body of Christ.
Looking forward to be with you all.

With prayerful regards.

Yours in Christ's service,

Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa

Rev. Thomas Varghese

Thomas Varghese AchenDearly Beloved in Christ,

Greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Years passed through Kuwait Mar Thoma Parish becomes older & older. Now, she is at the age of 47.  Very few years left for Golden ' Jubilee. Let us join together with Joy, Happiness & thankful heart.

Glad that our Parish is always active with different Programmes. Parish Organizations are rich enough in resource and circumstanc¬es & extends their assistance to different People and Communities. Here, we need to have an evaluation of our earlier fore fathers life
experience, in the formation and existence of the Parish.

With limited resources, our fore parents moved, shared and stayed together. But now, with rich resources, we find difficult to move, share & stay together.
Church is a Co-operate Institution for fellowship, ie Fellowship with God & fellowmen. Faithfulness is the main quality in a corporate institution.

Where we loose faithfulness, there we loose our identity
God the Almighty calls us - to keep Christian identity in our own respective situation. Every year, as a Parish, we take many new resolutions, but when the time comes, valid resolutions are discarded.Since 2007; we are too late to settle our annual State¬ments of accounts, in time. Being a resourceful parish, it is not wise and good to prolong account matters to be settled. Almighty God, the controller of everything is the one who select you, in each and every responsibilities; which shows that You are expected to keep faithfulness, both to God & fellowmen. If we can unite together with a Christian committed life style, surely we can regain our fame before the so¬ciety. This year, we the office bearers have taken pledge to settle & hand over the annual account in time. Though the account of 2009-2010 was not yet presented, with out opening balance, the present Trustees presented first quarter's April - June 2010-2011 account, before the executive committee. And now they are ready with 2nd quarter's July-Sept 2010-2011 accounts.

If so my request to dear parishioners, please keep your promises, before your fellow believers when they select and trust you, as the officials of the parish. Officials of the Parish are expected to strengthen their Spirituality and Talents through the word of God and Devotion.

We should be good in everything & expected to support for Goodness. Next Gen¬eral election of the Parish is very near.Who will stand in front as model? Only model people can contribute sweet memories & influence others.

Let us praise God for the Parish & be humble in its Potentialities. As we are in the month of Birthday memories of our Parish, May god bless us all. Since, we are very close to Golden Jubilee of the parish, Let us prepare ourselves as a channel of God's grace. Leave all unwanted elements from our hearts and hold together through God's Spirit. Be an Instrument for the countless blessings.

LORD OUR GOD PURIFIES US THROUGH YOUR SPIRIT & BLOOD, SO THAT WE CAN BE A MODEL FOR OUR GOLDEN MEMORIES.
May God fill with His Spirit & Bless.

With Prayers,

Rev. A Y Varghese

Greetings to all,
We are going to celebrate one more Parish Day (47th) in the history of our Kuwait Mar Thoma Parish. It is very happy that our Diocesan Episcopa, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Tirumeni is with us for the celebration. Loving and warm welcome to Tirumeni.

In this great occasion we must look back to our past life events, where ever the Almighty God helped us to face the realities of the time. Let us give thanks to God for all His love and care for us. And again we must thank God for all our Tirumenies, Achens and
former leaders of our parish for their able leadership and timely care.

Now we have to analyze the present situations of our life & parish. Do we need any corrections? Do we need any guidance from God, our Bishops, achens, elders, and parents? Think again and again. If we need any corrections, guidance, don't forget or delay to take it timely.

We need to grow in the love of God and His Mission. For that we must look unto His face and seek His Guidance. Let us look unto His Face and do the Mission faithfully and grow until His Head. Blessings to all.
May God Bless each and every one of us. In His service

Yours loving

Rev. Genil Abraham

Genil Abraham AchenDearly Beloved in Christ,

I would like to greet you all as we complete one more productive year of existence in Kuwait as a parish. The parish day celebration may lift the spirits of all parishioners.

We are here to serve our Lord and His world. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, "Anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make you subject and verb agree to serve. You don't have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don't have to know Einstein's Theory of Relativity to serve. You don't have to know the second theory of thermo-dynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." Spirit of the lord be with you for this wonderful service"

Yours in Christ

Adv. John Thomas P

Dear Parishioners

Our Parish has been blessed abundantly and protected by the God Almighty all these years, even in the midst of Iraq invasion. HE was good and merciful for rehabilitating the Parish and its members back in Kuwait with His manifold blessings.

We are planning to celebrate our 47th Parish Day on 12th November 2010 at Marina Hall, Jleeb Al Shuyoukh after the Holy Communion at 7:00 a.m. We have invited our Diocesan Episcopa Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Tirumeni and he has kindly consented to be with us for these services and function. We wholeheartedly welcome Tirumeni to Kuwait. Tirumeni's presence will be a blessing to us and hope that it will boost up the activities of the Parish and the Church further. At this juncture of 47th Parish day, let us introspect ourselves:¬

1. Let's look up and praise Lord Almighty for His guidance, providence and protection.
2. Let's look back and evaluate sincerely and rectify the shortcomings in us. Let's imbibe new values and the teachings from the set-backs and strive for further excellence.
3. Let's look around and see the resources and potentialities Lord Almighty has showered on us. We are one of the biggest Mar Thoma Parishes with innumerable potentials that can be channelized for building up HIS Kingdom.
4. Let's look ahead and plan with more commitment to our Lord, Church and to the fellow- beings.

We need to humble ourselves before the Almighty, to stand and work together for the qualitative improvement of our Parish activities, which in turn will result in carrying out our mission. May God Almighty bless us all.

With prayerful regards

Rev. Genil Abraham

Genil Abraham AchenDearly Beloved in Christ,

Greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Christian community in Kuwait had the rare privilege of witnessing an ordination service. Nearly three hour graceful worship service was an overwhelming experience. I hope Prince Varghese achen, being the first priest from Kuwait Mar Thoma community, would evoke an inspiration among the young generation for God’s service.

As the schools reopened, vacationers are back, we are going to be very busy in the church activities too. Sunday school and Sevika Sanghom resumed after the vacation.

Suffragan Metropolitan Zacharias Mar Theophilus Thirumeni will be with us to bless us in the family day. Let us prayerfully prepare for Thirumeni’s visit.

The month of October arrives with youth and family days in church almanac. I am fascinated to pen down few words on family. The word of God exalts the family. The Christian family is always understood in its spiritual context. It is a spiritual unit. In the family, as in the Church, basic values are formed, the soul is shaped and established, and the path of salvation is set forth. The family is that warm place where the leaven of the Faith is nurtured, where we first begin to rise to full life in Christ.

But the selfish, social family, which triumphs the rights or privileges of blood ties, is for us not a true family. An economic unit that uses family relationships to attain worldly possessions or wealth; the social unit turned in on itself, making the family responsible only for itself, that family which is a "god," the single most important thing in life, that thing most worth fighting for-these, too, are not families for a true believer. As exalted and sacred as the family might be, our first loyalty as true Christians is to God. Anything which comes before Christ, to paraphrase Holy Scripture, is not worthy of Christ. Anyone who places the priorities of the family before the Church and the commandments is a cultist, betraying both the Church and the authentic family. A true family is not worldly. A true family is an Image of the Church and the brotherhood of all mankind. A true family does not confine its love to those within its boundaries, but extends to its neighbors (and even its enemies) the love which has been developed, cultivated, and refined within the family.

There could be nothing more pristine than the true family of God. It is, after all, the crucible in which the elements of whole persons are formed. May God make us worthy to lead and to establish such families.

Yours in Christ

Genilachen.

Rev. Prince Varghese

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

Greetings to all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Who has known the mind of God?"- Romans 11:33(a)

Two decades ago, this beautiful country of Kuwait was attacked and invaded by Iraq, with all of us having to leave this land like refugees braving many odds. We went through experiences of despair and loss. We weren't sure if we could make it safely to our homeland. And if we did. we were clueless if we could come back to a liberated Kuwait.

But all through the perils and hardships of those life experiences we experienced the love and grace of God. Like how the Israelites were mightily escorted out of Egypt with His outstretched arms- we were similarly guided to our places of safety. We were brought back to a resurgent Kuwait and thus tar. He keeps us protected in the palm of His hands.

The cross of God proclaims the love of God la this world. In a world where people don't have the time for others, or are reluctant la accommodate 'the other' the Cross is a stark contrast. It never says No to us. However sinful we are. the Cross adds us and has the space for us. I wonder if the '+' (plus) sign is art invention inspired from the Cross of love. To the remorseful plea of the Iltiel (Luke 23: 42, 43), Jesus responded to him with love. Jesus stretches his arms on the Cross to declare his endless love for us. He stoops down to utter nothingness on the Cross for us (Phil 2:8). Beyond measuring the dimensions of God's love- we must emulate the grandeur of God by seeking out the last. the least and the lost.

The Church as a community of the faithful must reach out to those sections of society. who are often neglected and exploited. A recent study showed that it was in Kuwait that there were most cases of violence against Asian maids and domestic helps. The Cross of Christ urges us, as a community to reach out to these people and protect them to do whatever we can so that their basic rights of existence can be upheld. Let us not turn a blind eye to such violations of human freedom.

I have no words to express my gratitude to God for calling and commissioning me as a 'Shemmash' (deacon) in his ministry. If God wills, my Kasseesa ordination will be held on the 3rd o1 September. I'm indebted to all the Achens and parishioners for the avalanche of their support and prayers. I'll cherish the wonderful memories of childhood and school days I had in Kuwait. I express my gratitude to the Sunday School and teachers especially, for having played an instrumental part in my spiritual formation. My thanks also go out to all the institutions of our parish for always supporting me and giving me opportunities to grow. I wish the Kuwait Mar Thoma parish the very best in the years ahead.
Continue to remember me in prayers.

Dn. Prince Varghese Madathileth.

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

Loving Greetings to you all in the matchless name of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ.

Holy Land Visit Programme arranged by Kuwait Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam from 3rd July to 11th 2010, was a very Success. Our team consisted 23 members and the programme was so pleasant & well planned. We all have received enough Grace from God, through out our journey.
Appreciations to Yuvajana Sakhyam, convener Mr. Shaji Simon, Participants and the travel agency.

After 12th board exam, all students have gone to mainland, with their parents, for higher education. Many were in tensions, but let us give thanks that God has shown His faithfulness for their admission process.

Since School Vacation has started, many are in their respective home towns. Let God Almighty protect, care and bring them back among us. So that we all can worship together, before His gloriness.

We are really proud of Deacon Prince Varghese, who has ordained on 2nd July at Immanuel Mar Thoma Church, Pazavangadikkara, by our Geevarghese Mar Athanasius Tirumeni. Our Metropolitan is preparing and arranging his Kasseessa ordination, during the first week of September 2010, at NECK Church & Parish Hall. Since it is a rare chance to witness this special & graceful Sacrament, May I request all children, Youths and elders should attend the occasion, prayerfully.

Deacon Prince Varghese got 6 first prizes and 4 second prizes in the B D [Bachelor of Divinity] Course. He got First Proficiency Prize in BD Course. Congratulation to Deacon at the same time appreciation to Mr. Raju Varghese & Mrs Aleyamma Varghese for devoting their elder son for God’s full time ministry. Let Us uphold our Deacon in our valuable prayers, so that he can prepare himself for His ministry.

Members who are residing in Camps & Hostels are actively participating in our parish worhip, fasting prayer and other programmes. Some of them are physically weak and they expects our prayer for their wellbeing. In Kuwait, we all need God’s abundance grace to excist, so we are expected to uphold each other in prayers.

Let us unite ourselves and try to grow in God’s Grace.
May God bless.

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

Greetings!

By the time it reaches you most of the vacationers might have left for the homeland. I pray that they all get a very rejuvenating experience in the greenery of our God’s own land. Scorching heat of the summer and frequent power supply failure has already made life tiring. Church attendance might get diminished. God may help all to withstand the crisis. This time I am glad to talk about a very recurrent prayer of our liturgy.

Kyrie Eleison is prayer frequently used in our liturgy. Though we know its literal meaning, how far we’ve gone in its soul? St. Symeon of Thessaloniki writes about the Kyrie Eleison prayer: " 'Have mercy upon us, O God, according to your great mercy, we beseech you ... ' This expression is appropriate, since we should not ask for anything except for mercy, as we have neither boldness nor access to offer anything as our own ...So as sinners and condemned through sin we cannot, nor dare not, say anything to our Loving Master except ‘have mercy’.

"The word mercy in English is the translation of the Greek word ‘eleos’. This word has the same ultimate root as the old Greek word for oil, or more precisely, olive oil; a substance which was used extensively as a soothing agent for bruises and minor wounds. The oil was poured onto the wound and gently massaged in, thus soothing, comforting and making whole the injured part. The Hebrew word which is also translated as eleos and mercy is ‘hesed’, and means steadfast love. The Greek words for 'Lord, have mercy,' are 'Kyrie, eleison' that is to say, 'Lord, soothe me, comfort me, take away my pain, show me your steadfast love.' Thus mercy does not refer so much to justice or acquittal a very Western interpretation but to the infinite loving-kindness of God, and his compassion for his suffering children! It is in this sense that we pray 'Lord, have mercy,' with great frequency throughout the Divine Liturgy."

By its theological richness, spiritual significance, and variety, the worship of the Mar Thoma church represents one of the most significant factors in the church’s continuity and identity. Let’s proudly uphold our great traditions of worship. May God Bless you all.

With love and prayers

Genil Abraham Achen

Rev. A Y Varghese

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ.

I am really glad to be with you all, as the 23rd Priest as well as the 9th Assistant Vicar of the Kuwait Mar Thoma Parish. Praises and honour to God for His selection and providence, at the same time, thanks to the Synod for my appointment. Rev. Thomas Varghese, Rev. Genil Abraham and Rev. Both Ahamadi & Salmiya Parish office bearers were also joined in reception at Airport. On 10th May, after Holy Communion, Parish has arranged a reception meeting for me. Now Organizations & Prayer Groups are arranging their receptions according to their convenience. Hearty thanks to everybody for your lovable gestures, words & expressions at receptions. Prayerful regards to you all, from my mother parish, Bethel Mar Thoma Church, Thannithode & from my family Sheeja, son Charis and daughter Chalos.

Being a Mar Thoma Community, growing in Christ should be our main thrust in the midst of Contemporary situation. Let us uphold the same as a challenge and try to grow until His head. There are many ups & downs, tensions, crises etc. in our life experience. Let us face the situation with God's presence. If we can follow the foot steps of Jesus, as role model, we can grow until His head. Let our mind, be the mind of Jesus. If God will allow, I will be here for 3 years among you all and I seek your Prayer & co-operation.

May God bless you all,

 My beloved Parishioners

"Not To Be Served But To Serve"

I am extremely happy to address all my Parish members on behalf of the Office-bearers of the year 2010 - 2011. As we have come to a new financial year of the Parish, the new Office -bearers are in need of your valuable prayers and participation in all the programmes of the Parish. By God's grace, we have three Achens to guide and lead us efficiently. Let's be proud of our Parish, which is one of the unique parishes of Mar Thoma Church, in membership, number and strength of the Parish organizations, number of worship services, number of prayer groups and in terms of the financial assistance we provide every year for the upliftment of the poor and needy, being part of our Christian commitment. When we look back to the history of our Parish, anybody can realize the abundant mercy, grace and guidance of our Lord Almighty, which protected and sustained our Parish in this country.

At this juncture of 47 years of existence of our Parish, we cannot claim that we have fulfilled or taken care of all our responsibilities and duties. What we have done or have been doing is only a small part. Major challenges yet remain unaddressed when we look at the immense potentials given by God Almighty to our Parish. When the Parish is referred as a "community within the community", we should grow up to the stage of the community, including everyone, respecting, caring and serving everyone, which is the model shown by our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are proud of the qualitative and quantitative growth of our Parish, even then we all must join hands to strive for further excellence in every aspect. Prayer groups and the Parish organizations are the strength of the Parish and hence expected to be under the same umbrella of the Parish with more discipline and more commitment. Let all our programmes be for His Glory and for the expansion of His Kingdom.

Please do not hesitate to convey your valuable suggestions and innovative proposals for the betterment of our Parish. WE ARE AT YOUR SERVICE. May God bless us all.

With prayerful regards

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

Greetings to all in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This year's our VBS ended very well. The final day programme held on 26th June was a memorable event. This year's VBS Director was our Thomas Varghese Achen. Achen led well. I am coming in to the main theme of our VBS. Radiance of Virtues (Mt. 5:16). This was the main theme of our VBS. It was a life touching theme. I know that the classes based on this theme really influenced our children. This theme has been taken from the Sermon on the Mount. The Sermon on the Mount is a vivid description of the noble values in a Christian life. What is virtues? The real virtue is our Jesus. It is something that shines involuntarily. It is a manifestation of the wonderfully bright inner state. See an experience from the life of Mother Theresa.

"I once picked up a woman from a garbage dump and she was burning with fever; she was in her last days and her only lament was: 'My son did this to me.' I begged her: You must forgive your son. In a moment of madness when he was not himself, he did a thing he regrets. Be a mother to him, forgive him. It took me a long time to make her say: 'I forgive my son.' Just before she died in my arms, she was able to say that with a real forgiveness. She was not concerned that she was dying. The breaking of the heart was that her son did not want her. This is something you and I can understand."

We a group of 22 members visited the Holy Land from July 3-10. It was an unforgettable event in our life. We visited the 'Sermon on the Mount Church' near the Sea of Galilee. Really we experienced the presence of Jesus there. He taught about the virtues in life from this mount. In Holy Land we celebrated Holy Communion near the tomb of Jesus. We stayed in Nazareth and Olive Mount. This trip was arranged by our Savika Sangam. We express our sincere thanks to those who prayed for us.

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

`Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.'[ Mat 5:16J.

Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam, has selected the above mentioned verse as the common memory verse for the 2009 KUVBS. By God's grace, our Parish got wonderful chance to conduct KUVBS, at NECK Church and Parish Hall. As you all know, the thematic presentation is from Jesus's sermon on the mount. The theme demand and calls us to be a shining light before others. VBS family in Kuwait got very precious time for dedicating themselves before the noble values of Jesus Christ. Let us all try to apply the beatitudes in our lives through the relationship with the Almighty.

Summer vacation has started and many members had gone to India at their respective places. Some parents with their children are still on the process of 'search programme for higher education admission'. Don't be tensed. He will never forsake you. Surely our God will do miracle for you. God never allow, not even a single child, to loose his/ her academic venture. He will keep His promises according to His faithfulness. So, with hope, let us continue the matter in our intense prayer.

Some parishioners are preparing themselves for moving to India for enjoying with their kith and kin during this vacation. When you are with dear ones, try to remember His wonderful providence and mercy. Let you not forget to sing a new thanks giving song, altogether.

We Achens are happy that many are participating in our parish worship services whole-heartedly. Even then, some youths and children are still away from our parish programmes. They give much concentration for their studies. Please note that wisdom comes not through education only, but through God's grace too. For that we need to spend time with Jesus. Just for evaluation: all our active Sunday school senior students, got high score in +2 result, upto 94.5%. In 10th, for subject, one student got 100%. May I congratulate them for their wonderful and God fearing experience. Shall I request to all children and their parents to give more importance for Jesus's virtues, which He taught from His life style. If so, we will be blessed.

Our Parish Office Bearers and Committee [2008-'09] have executed their duties faithfully. My sincere thanks to them, personally. At the same time, Wishes to the Office Bearers and Committee for the year 2009-2010.

Organizations have already started their yearly planned programmes and they are really active at their own respective ground. My wishes to you all, for bear good fruits. Now we have 9 organizations in our Parish. All parish members are free to join in any one of the above mentioned Organizations, according to your willingness. Any how, my ambition is all my parishioners should grow in Christ.

Let God Bless you all.

In Christ,

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

We take delivery of June with a Holiday mood in Kuwait due to closure of schools for summer vacation. Many of us go to visit their dear ones in home land. Holiday is a relief from busy and hectic activities of life. But it is not just an escape. One can utilize it for total revitalization of his/her life.

In St. Mark 1:35 we see Jesus taking such a withdrawal.

No one could ever accuse Christ of laziness! The Son of God was no sloth. Yet, with all His activity-we see Him retreat to a solitary place to engage in His most important of all activities... that He could fellowship and commune with the Father undisturbed.. and truly prepare for what was ahead! This experience was probably the favorite part of His life. VBS is such an opportunity for the children. We pray that your summer is going well and that is a time for rest and renewal.

After the Easter the church almanac focuses on a flurry of mission themes .

Mission starts from an attitude of confession. A prayer goes like this:

We confess before you and all people:

We have been unworthy servants.

We have misused and abused the creation.

We have wounded one another by divisions everywhere.

We have often failed to take decisive action against environmental destruction, poverty, racism, caste-ism, war and genocide. We are not only victims but also perpetrators of violence. In all this, we have fallen short as disciples of Jesus Christ who in his incarnation came to save us and teach us how to love. Forgive us, God, and teach us to forgive one another. God, hear the cries of all creation,

the cries of the waters, the air, the land and all living things;

the cries of all who are exploited, marginalized, abused and victimized, all who are dispossessed and silenced, their humanity ignored, all who suffer from any form of disease, from war

and from the crimes of the arrogant who hide from the truth,

distort memory and deny the possibility of reconciliation.

God, guide all in seats of authority towards decisions of moral integrity.

Let us meaningfully participate in this prayer and take our part in His mission.

With Love and Prayer

By the Grace of God, we are entering into a new financial year, i.e from 1st April onwards. New Office Bearers and Executive Committee are eagerly waiting to begin their tenure. Let us join together and co-operate for the well being of our parish.

As you all know, we are in the Valiya Mombu(Great Lent), and many are spending much time for prayer and fasting. We are expected to practice prayer and fasting in our homes throughout the 50 lent days. Isaiah 58:6-7 says, "The kind of fasting I want is this, remove the chains of oppression and the yoke of injustice, and let the oppresses go free. share your food with the hungry and open your homes to the homeless and poor.Give clothes to those who have nothing to wear, and do not refuse to help your relatives'. "Let not our Lent period deteriorate into a mere ritual but, instead, sensitively respond to the needs of the downtrodden brethern around us".May this lent period help us to rededicate our lives before our Lord, who emptied. Himself of all heavenly Glory and descended to earth to accomplish the great mission, "Salvation of mankind".

At this Academic year, 10th and 12th standard students have done good attempt in their Board Examinations. Almighty God haas showered abundant Grace towards our Children. Even if our Board Exams are over, both parents and children are in tension, due to next admissions. Let us hope thaat God will never forsake His children and do wonders according to His faithfulness

Now the Parish and Organizations are preparing annual reports and accounts to publish their respective gatherings. I an really proud of all organizations and its activities, because all have done their duties well.

Now, we have 3 achens to serve. We achens are planning to have a systematic house visit programme within the Parish. Please continue to cope with achens, so that the ministry will be blessed for all.

Our Office Bearers and Executive Committee Members (2008-2009) have done their duties very well. All parishioners have given much support for them and participated in all parish programmes and worship. Parishioners fiancial support was highly appreciable.

Since we are about to close the current financial year, shall I extend my hearty thanks for Raju Thomas Achen and family. Genil Abraham Achen and family, Office Bearers, Executive committee Members and all parishioners for their sincere co-operation.

Let us hope in good and blessed future of Christ

With Prayers and Love

Greetings to you all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “Make good use of every opportunity you have because these are evil days” Eph 5:16.

Time and Tides are same. It will not wait for us. What is the value of time? To know the value of one year, ‘ask a student who has failed in his examination’. To realize the value of one month, ‘ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby’. To realize the value of one week, ‘ask the editor of a weekly’. To realize the value of one day, ‘ask a daily wage laborer’. To realize the value of one hour, ’ask the lover who is waiting to meet. To realize the value of one minute, ‘ask the person who has missed the train’. To realize the value of one second,’ ask a person who has survived an accident’. To realize the value of one milli-second, ’ask a person who has won silver medal in Olympics’. Time is very precious. Time and days are the gift of God.

Perilous times, evil days, end times are some of the words used by the scriptures to describe the time that we live. One needs no deep interpretation to relate our time that we live. One needs no deep interpretation to relate our times with the description we see in the pages of the Bible. The word of God not only makes us aware of the nature of the times we live but also instructs how we should live in these days. Paul writing to the Ephesian church exhorts to redeem the time. He says “Be very careful, then how you live – not us unwise but wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil Ephesians 5:16.

Be conscious of the brevity of time.

Days, weeks and years move very swiftly. Redeeming the time becomes a priority once we are aware of the shortness of human lifespan. The psalmist compares our life to the grass in the field and apostle James compares life to vapor. We not only have one life but have a brief one. No wonder apostle Paul tells believers to redeem the time.

While the entertainment would screen “today’s show” tomorrow in real life missed opportunities rarely return. God’s word teaches us to work while it is still day and make the commitment while it is yet today. “Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises.

Much can be accomplishes by saving the fragments of time we waste. Many of world’s great men have achieved great things not in their normal work schedule, but by redeeming the spare time they found during their daily occupation. John Wesley read books during the long hours of travel on a horse. One of God’s chosen men who brought countrywide revival in southern India was an ordinary farmer who studied God’s word while his oxen rested.

The scripture teaches us to be on the watch out for “little foxes that spoil the vine”. Some of our activities may not be harmful and evil in themselves but unnecessary and unproductive in building a vibrant spiritual life. Learn to say “No” to those things that steal our precious time.

Let’s use our times very cautious. We have only few weeks ahead of us to complete this financial year. One of the important programme, Parish Festival is in our doorsteps. May this be a great experience in our life.

Again wish you all a “Happy New Year”

Zachrias ThirumeniDear Beloved in Christ,
Really glad that I have got one more chance to be with you all, specially at the advent season. I appreciate the Vicars. Officials, Executive committees and parishioners for colorful growth in both spiritual and social spheres.

A familiar year is passing out and an unknown future is approaching us. Already the past was horrible, distasteful and painful. No one like the reputation of terrorism, pity wars, piracy and religious conflicts. We look forward a joyful, Peaceful and Fruitful year. It could remain merely a hope and a dream. But CHRISTMAS seems to make a difference. The Angels sings from the heaven “joy to the world, the LORD is come”. “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests”.

This suggest, peace is not a handy work of any human being, but Gift of God the Almighty. Joy comes, not from the pleasure of the world, but by the presence of God, god with us. In the New Year, we need to look for the eternal contemporary God in Christ, through in Spirit. Seeking God is wisdom. God looks down from heaven to see: who search God ?[Psalms 53]

Seeking pleasure is foolishness. New world has to renew it’s value system and way of action to include all in the periphery and share with all who are deprived off and marginalized. The joy of the world is through share. When we follow God’s call and challenge, we will create a new earth and new heaven.

Let the new earth enable us to generate and disseminate Peace, Joy and Prosperity in and around the world in which we live and move.

With best wishes, prayers and blessings

Rev Raju Thomas“So then, anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on a rock” Mt 7:24

Family, for ages, has existed as an extensive and influential social outfit. Its universal nature has impacted almost all cultures. Sociologists suggest that, family is a sociocultural institution. Anthropologists argues that, in ancient days there were no families and most probably lived in groups and they were promiscuous. Karlmax says family is the production unit of tomorrows lab our force. Others have different opinions. But Bible says family is God’s creation. Created by God and sustaining by God. Our Valiya Metropolitan, Chrysostum Thirumeni says “family is the place where the secular and the sacred meet each other, the one where relationships are kept intact with God and man. It is the field of love, a centre of service, the workshop where character is formed and a place where one finds the meaning of life”. A family can be compared to an orchestra where there are different voices but the harmony is achieved through proper co-ordination. As the blending of voices brings out the beauty of the music, the differences in the family through proper co-ordination can enhance its aroma. Let’s share few thoughts in this connection.

Family is the basic unit of the society. Family is the place where spiritual, moral and ethical values are handed down to the next generation. It is a nursery where childres are grown trained and disciplined in good Christian values.

Family is the unit of the Kingdom of God. Kingdom of God declares the message of love, sharing, respect, hope and togetherness. This we can see in Christian family lif. If not, it become a hell.

Family is an altar of God. A Christian family is built around Jesus Christ. He is the head of the family, the unseen guest and a silent listener to every conversation. The house is set apart for God and for the use of the family. Family is an altar. The fire of prayer should continue to burn in this altar.

Family is a place of worship and fellowship.Precilla and Acquilla in their house held worship and fellowship meetings which St. Pauls greatly appreciated and participated. In their house there were space for other believers and for the people with needs. In the houses of Philemon and Precilla, many people got consolation and comfort.

Family is a place of relation. Relation is always the base of existence. Family is the best example for it. Relation with God and each other.

But today family system is in danger in many societies. Sweeping changes in several fields, technological advancements, new ideas, social sanctions and new social structures have changed the pattern of family as a whole. Let’s keep the serenity of our families. Be a good family bases on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

With love and prayers
